Jacob Bros Construction is now hiring an Accounts Receivable/Project Accountant.
About the Role:
The Accounts Receivable/Project Accountant is responsible for all aspects of the A/R process including vendor set up, maintenance and account reconciliation, A/R entry including billing and receipts, and A/R collections which entails communicating with clients in a professional manner.
Please note this position is 100% office based.
Responsibilities:
Issues invoices; assists customers with account inquiries
Conducts timely collection of overdue accounts via phone and email while maintaining superior customer relationships
Demonstrates resilience - able to positively resolve challenging customer situations in a manner consistent with Jacob Bros values
Demonstrates a sense of urgency executing job responsibilities and prioritizing urgent and important work
Collaborates with Project Managers to ensure invoicing is done in a timely manner; processes customer invoices
Uploads project budgets to Sage ensuring proper cost codes are used
Bank deposits
Sets up jobs and job cost codes
Various bank reconciliations for multiple companies
Supports the accounting team on month-end accounting duties
Assists the accounting team with other ad hoc activities and reporting as required
Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant and progressive A/R experience
Experience in the construction industry is an asset
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or related field, or pending completion preferred
Experience in recurring billing schedules and adjustments with complex account reconciliations
Proficient in Excel and experience with accounting systems; experience with Sage 300 a strong asset
Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented, ability to multi-task
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering data
Ability to work independently in high volume environment to meet tight deadlines
