***: Performs a key role in providing leadership, management and guidance to the SE First Nation, Inuit and Métis (FNIM) Program and team, supporting growth and diversity strategies and ensuring the achievement of program operational objectives and financial targets. Provides a key role in identifying and leading initiatives that support SE Health as an Indigenous informed organization.


TITLE of IMMEDIATE SUPERVISIOR/MANAGER:
Senior Director, SE FNIM Program


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


Program Management and Development

  • Supports the program to achieve annual operating and performance plans.
  • Ensures all FNIM program initiatives meet or exceed SE standards for programs, client relationships, and contract management through development of consistent and standardized approaches to program and project management
  • Manages FNIM program contracts, ensuring services are provided within scope and ensuring invoices are processed in a timely manner
  • Proactively seeks and identifies new external contracts and business opportunities
  • Develop, implement and report FNIM program metrics that are reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Evaluate and utilize report data to facilitate improvement activities and support evidencebased decision making
  • Evaluate current operational processes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Participate in the development of systems, policies, and procedures related to the delivery of the FNIM Program
  • Identifies and assesses trends that have implications for the FNIM Program
  • Involved with FNIM education development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Quality control reviews of FNIM education programs.

People Management and Team Development

  • Coach, motivate and lead FNIM program team, maintaining and facilitating teamwork.
  • Leads and manages direct report team members.
  • Positive Role model for team members.
  • Works closely with Education Liaisons on project development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Interview for relevant positions, selects staff (in consultation with the Program Director and/or Director), and ensures effective orientation of new team members.
  • Ensure effective team communication environment with regular individual and team meetings.
  • Practice performance management, including providing frequent feedback and conducting performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Ensure annual and probationary performance reviews are completed for all direct reports
  • Identify skills and/or knowledge gaps relative to direct reports as part of annual learning plans;
  • Provide opportunities and supports staff education and development to ensure annual learning plans are achieved.
  • Follow employee relations processes and relevant policies and procedures

Partnership, Relationship and Process Management

  • Foster and maintain partnerships with Federal/Provincial/Territorial (FPT) Governments; Indigenous health care and educational organizations; national bodies; provincial accrediting bodies and registries; FNIM National, Regional and Tribal organizations; and FNIM communities
  • Identify and lead initiatives that support SE Health as an Indigenous Informed Organization

Business Development

  • Provide support to new and ongoing contract requirements and provide support to RFP contract development
  • Identify new opportunities, initiatives and partnerships to the Program Senior Director and Director of New Initiatives
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A Graduate Degree in health care, education, or health management is preferred
  • 5+ years of related experience is required.
  • A person of First Nations, Inuit or Métis ancestry is preferred
  • Demonstrated indepth understanding of First Nations, Inuit and Métis culture, history, challenges, issues and strengths
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with First Nations, Inuit and Métis political and health delivery structures, communitybased health programs and educational programs and services.
  • Comfortable and confident in providing in person and virtual presentations is a requirement.
  • Welldeveloped analytical, planning, advanced writing, communication, and problemsolving skills are required.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects are required.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, motivational and team building skills are required
  • Work experience in proposal development is an asset.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate strong working relationships throughout the organization.
  • Strong effective relationship management skills are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office at an intermediate level is required.
  • Availability and willingness to travel is required, travel may include 20% of the role's time.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
