Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC) is a subsidiary of Medavie Health Services (MHS) managing ground ambulance, air medical transport, and medical communications in Nova Scotia under a contract with the provincial government.

Our fleet of over 180 ambulances ensures timely service across Nova Scotia responding to 165,000+ calls annually managed by the EHS Operations Medical Communications Centre.


LifeFlight program provides critical care via helicopter, fixed wing, or ground ambulance, enhancing accessibility for patients.


Moreover, paramedics partake in diverse programs like community-based paramedic initiatives, collaborative emergency centers, and emergency preparedness.


EMC is dedicated to delivering high-quality pre-hospital care to Nova Scotians using more than 1,400 skilled employees including paramedics, nurses, communication officers, and support staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Enter vendor invoices and address payment and account queries.
  • Ensure proper approval and processing of invoices.
  • Produce weekly cheques, manage payments via EFT, and handle vendor reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
  • Provide reception desk coverage during specific periods.

Requirements:
  • Business or accounting education required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in accounts payable or similar role.
  • Proficiency in computerized accounting systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Accurate data entry skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
