What You'll Do:


  • Welcome guests to the restaurant with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing an excellent first impression.
  • Manage the guest seating efficiently, considering table availability, server rotations, and guest preferences.
  • Answer incoming calls and inquiries, provide information about the restaurant, and assist with reservations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/hostess station and waiting area, including tidying menus, ensuring proper lighting, and managing coat check if applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate seating and ensure smooth transitions between guests.
  • Monitor and manage wait times, offering alternatives or complimentary services as appropriate during peak periods.
  • Anticipate and address guest needs and concerns promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from management when necessary.
  • Assist with special events, promotions, and other duties as assigned by management to support overall restaurant operations.

What You'll Need:


  • Previous experience as a host/hostess or in customer service roles is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of reservation systems and basic computer skills are an asset.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Ontario, Canada.
