Border Patrol Agent

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team as Border Patrol Agents. As a Border Patrol Agent, you will play a critical role in enforcing U.S. laws and regulations, protecting the nation's borders, and upholding the values of justice and integrity.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws.
• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending aliens and smugglers at or near the borders.

Working Conditions:

Borders can be physically demanding environments, with frequent exposure to harsh weather conditions and challenging terrain.

Requirements:

• 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GL-9 grade level, performing duties such as physical searches of detained individuals, apprehending violators of state, federal, or immigration laws, and utilizing firearms proficiently.
• Ability to speak and read Spanish, as well as English.
• Citizenship: You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position.
• Age Restriction: In accordance with Public Law , this position is covered under law enforcement retirement provisions. Candidates must be referred for selection to the Border Patrol Agent position before reaching their 40th birthday.

Training and Development:

After hiring, you will receive formal training at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico. Training includes courses on immigration and nationality laws, law enforcement, USBP-specific operations, driver training, physical techniques, firearms, and other essential skills.
