Job Description

Bantrel has an exciting opportunity for Engineering Design Technology students to support our Energy, Mining, and Infrastructure Teams this summer. Reporting to the Plant Layout & Piping Discipline Lead, you will support various Energy/Infrastructure related projects in our Edmonton corporate office. The position will start in May 2026 for a 4‑month term.

Duties & Responsibilities (may include and are not limited to)

• Work independently and as part of a team to complete project specific engineering deliverables, including:
  • Modeling and design using the latest industry software and tools
  • Design Deliverables
  • Engineering Work Package development
  • Material Requisition packages
  • 3D Visualization tools
• Become knowledgeable with the engineering design process and practical applications, regional codes and standards, various engineering design tools and applications, and Bantrel quality procedures
• Work collaboratively in a multi‑discipline environment to deliver the best solution for our clients
• Assist senior engineers and designers with their responsibilities including creating and checking engineering deliverables, attending design reviews, and quality reviews

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an Engineering Design Technology program; preference will be given to candidates currently completing their education through NAIT
• You will have completed 1 year of your program by April 2026
• Excel academically while being actively involved in extra‑curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community
• Interest in engineering design and complex projects
• Previous work experience will be considered an asset
• Technical experience with design calculations, modeling tools and software, ability to use data‑centric design tools, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) will be preferred
