As a
Manager, Reporting & Insights, you will lead and oversee Business Reporting, Analytics and Insights for Scotia Securities Inc.

Working closely with multiple stakeholders of Scotia Securities Inc., you will be required to demonstrate strong written and communication skills, and expected to deliver innovative reporting and analytics solutions, including self-service and cloud based.

The Manager, Reporting & Insights is a key member of the Scotia Securities Inc. Head Office team and ensures business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Drive a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Be responsible for development, maintenance and distribution of reports and dashboards focused on key performance measures and internal controls for SSI distribution channels. This includes, but not limited to, mutual funds sales, assets under administration, sales practices, and compliance reporting.
  • Work closely with data warehouse and IT teams to manage development of analytical infrastructure/ data model to provide sound reporting and analytics, ensuring all systems and models have accurate information and are available to business users.
  • Interact with multiple data sources, aligning with the Enterprise Data Lake (EDL) development projects to quickly identify, extract and transform data into easy to understand reports for key stakeholders such as Executive Leadership, Finance and Operations.
  • Report directly to the Sr. Manager, Reporting & Insights, defining the reporting and analytics roadmap and longterm strategy for Scotia Securities Inc. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring management is kept informed of business trends and alignment to business objectives.
  • Provide business insights and develop presentation materials to support Senior Management and Executive Leadership
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment and ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Science / Analytics / Business Intelligence
  • Advanced experience in SQL/Power BI/Tableau/Visual Studio. Python/R knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in data infrastructure management data mining, profiling, modeling, cleansing, enriching as well as extract, transform, load (ETL) solutions and scripting
  • Ability to translate technical knowledge into business value.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of Canadian Retail Banking and Wealth Management Distribution
