Faculty in Regional Stewardship are responsible for providing instruction to regional learners; evaluating regional learner progress, designing and developing curriculum and instructional materials, and supporting regional learners in meeting the learning outcomes of their courses and programs.


JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:


Provides Quality Instruction in Courses as Assigned

  • Instructs courses as assigned.
  • Selects instructional strategies to meet learner needs.
  • Creates lesson plans.
  • Develops and updates curriculum, guides and rubrics as requested.
  • Evaluates learner performance on an ongoing basis and provides learners and administrators with learner progress reports.
  • Maintains official records as required; provides regular updates on learner progress to the Associate Dean, Regional Stewardship, to ensure accurate maintenance of records.
  • Provides instruction to a variety of settings.

Provides a Positive Learning Experience for Learners

  • Supports learners with issues (for example: attendance; conduct, performance).
  • Identifies areas of concern and refers to the Program Chair if follow up is necessary.
  • Refers learners to other institutional supports as required (for example: tutoring, counseling).
  • Ensures that special student accommodations are met (for example: reduced course load, vision impairments, hearing impairments, testing) as per individualized accommodation (IAP).
  • Supports the program in awarding of scholarships and bursaries.
  • Participates in college and departmental events that promote learner success (for example: orientation, graduation).

Builds and Maintains Relationship with Internal and External Stakeholders and promote the Department and the College

  • Keeps current regarding changes in best practice and adapts curriculum as required.
  • Assists with articulation and transfer activity for learners as required.
  • Meets with industry stakeholders and sit on Advisory Committees as required.
  • Attends external community meetings.
  • Participates in recruitment events as schedule permits.

Other Duties /Special Projects

  • Follows College Policies and Procedures.
  • Follows College policies and procedures and completes professional development requirements (Respectful Workplace Policy, Regional Campus Orientations, Brightspace/D2L, Agresso, MS Teams, Learner Success 101, ISW, FOIP).
  • Ability and willingness to participate in applied research.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Early Learning and Child Care from a recognized postsecondary institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience teaching adult learners, senior high learners, and/or postsecondary learners.
  • An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to travel within the region. Regional Campuses are in Airdrie, Cochrane, and Okotoks, and provide service to those municipalities and their surrounding regions.

Preferred

  • Bachelors' Degree.
  • Experience supporting and working with underrepresented learners with diverse and complex barriers to success.
  • Ability to facilitate learning to a demographically diverse group of learners with various ability levels and learning styles.
  • Experience with classroom management; in both face to face and virtual environments.
  • Computer skills; MS Office, Brightspace/D2L, MS Teams, SMART Boards, Projectors, related software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intercultural skills and sensitivity.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
