The Food Service Director is responsible for the overall management and success of food service operations including cafes franchises catering events under the supervision of the General Manager The role oversees staff financial administration menu planning and compliance with health safety standardsResponsibilities
- Under the general supervision of the General Manager oversee all location staff perform administrative financial responsibilities assist with planning meals catering events ensure success entire unit including locations cafes franchises Work with Chef plan develop menus recipes cafe catering events incorporating company promotional themes Healthwise Choices Program while encouraging creative ideas from staff within guidelines restrictions Put processes place monitor staff performance to ensure required health safety regulations procedures being followed Ensure all participate pass requisite training to knowledge proper techniques food preparation handling Provide on-the-job training to assist application knowledge job site Ensure properly using tools supplies equipment knives ovens cleaning materials Provide employees purchased personal protective equipment non-slip shoes cutresistant gloves using correctly Put signage place communicating to staff health safety regulations kitchen conduct Notify parties malfunctioning repair equipment Make sure location working FoodSafe ServeSafe standards applicable legislation company policies Address concerns employees work Chef safe healthy environment Update training policies communicate changes to members Work alongside Chef kitchen staff control costs ensuring recipe yield meets quantity budget expectations Suggest dishes take advantage seasonal availability Relate suppliers regarding maintaining inventory ordering receiving supplies resolving discrepancies escalating issues unable resolved General Manager appropriate support department Schedule coordinate shifts assignments taking consideration business skills individual members Track attendance payroll functions ensuring entered accurate timely fashion Train develop coaching help reach next stage career development determine orientation requirements each coordinate successful completion trainings skill development Oversee aspects franchise locations accordance Company Franchise requirements Develop marketing business plan annual semi-annual basis detailing previous accomplishments setting goals action plans quarters Attend regularly scheduled meetings discuss current location overall organization strategies Remain ambassador goodwill ethics client relations times Liaison clients meet needs working Company guidelines Where necessary step alleviate guest concerns resolve issues arising service Maintain speed service standards Lead champion construction unit opening Oversee franchise locations as necessary Listens customers internal external responds professionally questions concerns directing further levels management needed Other duties assigned Qualifications WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR University Degree College Diploma hospitality management related field Seven years experience leading high volume culinary teams Previous business administration experience employee management ServeSafe FoodSafe certified Red Seal Chef Status Required Superior communication verbal written English French as necessary Able effectively handle concerns tact adhering confidentiality policies Lead projects forecast business identify target growth opportunities Effectively use computer software POS equipment Working Conditions Reach lift pounds floor shoulder height Frequent standing walking required Able work hot cold temperatures Number titles Direct Reports Approx titles reports seasonal Approx $4 million revenue responsible for: strong>
