Hybrid Role:


This is a hybrid position; you will be required to work at the WestJet Campus in Calgary from time to time.

Applicants need to be located in Calgary and surrounding areas.

The
Learning Advisor role is responsible for consulting with business stakeholders and SMEs to identify and develop 'best in class' learning solutions aligned with business goals through their expertise in a multitude of learning modalities including face to face learning, digital learning, user experience, along with the architecture and analysis of learning effectiveness

Key deliverables include

  • Consult with multiple groups within our organization to assess and prioritize training and development needs linked to business objectives
  • Design comprehensive learning solutions that will deliver the best return on investment for the business unit and/or group
  • Conduct and/or analyze training needs and skill assessments to develop new training or improve existing program(s)
  • Assess and select external vendors or consultants for training program creation
  • Develop and implement best practice evaluation methodologies and leverage evaluation summary reports to demonstrate return on investment (ROI) for training programs to business leaders
  • Examine the most effective learning methodologies and design training solutions including instructorled, virtual instructorled, selfpaced, eLearning, video tutorials, informal and social learning methods
  • Determine appropriate learning objectives and evaluation metrics upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
  • Consider user experience in all design solutions that fulfill against WestJet's values and enable a positive employee experience
Experience and qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of Learning & Development experience
  • Minimum 3 years of adult education experience
  • Strong understanding of current adult learning principles and emerging trends
  • Strategic thinker who can conceptualize the most suitable learning design that fulfills the business need through a practical approach
  • Collaborative relationship builder who can manage internal clients and external vendors to achieve excellent results with tight restrictions
  • Professional communicator that is flexible, detail driven, with a proactive selfstarter approach and exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Endtoend design for organizational learning programs
  • Creation of comprehensive digital learning solutions using eLearning software such as Articulate Storyline, Rise or similar technologies
  • Project management and change management experience considered an asset
  • Master's in education, degree in information design, certificate in Adult Education, and/or graphics design is considered an asset
