Our organization is looking for a reliably, experienced book-keeper to assist with developing a concrete accounting department

Your employment with Walk of Grace includes $28-$35/hour, with full medical benefits and a pension after the 6-month probationary period. You will receive your own private office. The hours are from Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Walk of Grace understands that life can be complicated, and is flexible with hours worked. Your employment contract includes three weeks' vacation, and three paid sick days a year

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:


  • Must be experienced in Sage or QuickBooks
  • Must be experienced with Canadian Payroll (Ceridian)
  • Must be experienced in excel and word
  • At least 35 years of experience with bookkeeping
  • Certification in bookkeeping (diploma, or certificate)
  • Previous bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas

Bookkeeper Job Responsibilities:


  • Complete accounts receivables (monthly invoicing)
  • Complete accounts payable
  • Prepare staff T4's
  • Complete payroll on a biweekly basis
  • Calculate source deductions including, but not limited to, CPP, EI, Income Tax, Medical Benefits, and Pension Deductions from staff pay cheques
  • Maintain and prepare records for corporate tax returns
  • Complete income tax payments on the behalf of the company
  • Complete Employer Health Tax payments and calculations
  • Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
  • Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
  • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
  • Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Complies with federal and provincial legal requirements
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
