    Precision NanoSystems, Inc. (PNI) creates innovative solutions for the discovery, development and manufacture of novel nanoparticles for use as medicines and in medical research. PNI's proprietary NanoAssemblr platform enables the rapid, reproducible, and scalable manufacture of next-generation nanoparticle formulations for the targeted delivery of therapeutic and diagnostic agents to cells and tissues in the body. PNI provides instruments, reagents and services to life sciences researchers, including pharmaceutical companies, and builds strategic collaborations to revolutionize healthcare through nanotechnology.

    Functioning within the BioPharmaceutical Services group (BPS), the Formulation Intern will work within the PreClinical Formulations team to develop and improve on existing methods and procedures for high-throughput formulation design, optimization, analysis and documentation. Where required, the Formulation Intern will assist members of the PreClinical formulation team with required lab work and documentation.

    The ideal applicant will have lab experience and will be able to collaborate in a diverse team and in a high-paced environment

    What you'll do:

    • Work with internal and external stakeholders to optimize use of lab equipment, formulation and analytical methods and administrative activities.
    • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports and technical presentations.
    • Prepare reagents, buffers and equipment for use in the experiments.
    • Assist in general lab management such as ordering, organization and cleanliness of lab.
    • Perform analysis to determine the physio-chemical properties of nanoparticle formulations such as DLS measurement, RiboGreen assay and other routine lab assays.

    Who you are:

    • A third- or fourth-year University Program in Biology, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical and Biological Engineering, or relevant disciplines with hands-on experience in the laboratory.
    • General knowledge of formulation, analytical or bioassay techniques including pipetting, weighing, pH adjustments and formulation relevant calculations.
    • Experience with standard formulation techniques such as DLS, plate-based assays, aseptic technique, chromatography or tissue culture is an asset.
    • Resourceful, flexible, detail-oriented, organized and with excellent communication skills.

    ​ The salary range for this role is $18-25/hr CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
