Accounting Clerk
About Us:
We are looking for people that like to be part of a fast-paced, growing company that fosters creative spirit and integrated teamwork and are eligible to work within Canada, primarily at the Head Office in Victoria, BC.
The Accounting Clerk will assist in any or all of the facets of accounting including but not limited to:
Accounts Payables, Expense Management, Cash Management, Fixed Assets Accounting and Payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and review incoming invoices, ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Match invoices with corresponding purchase or work orders.
- Accurately enter invoice details, vendor information, and other relevant data into the accounting system for the Canadian parent but also US and Australian subsidiaries.
- Track balances on contractual agreements.
- Ensure A/P invoices follow contractual compliance.
- Manage employee reimbursements, review, verify, document.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Provide vendors with payment remittances in a timely manner.
- Manage credit card entries and reconciliations.
- Assist finance team with cash flow entries.
- Assist finance team with Budgeting and Forecasting.
- Generate Payables reports and other reports as requested.
- Maintain organized record and documentation related to accounts payable.
- Prepare any quarterly regulatory filings such as GST, Employer Health Tax, and WCB.
- Assist in the monthly closing of books as part of the accounting cycle.
- Processing semimonthly payroll and all associated filings for both the Canadian and US entity.
- Reconcile accounts as directed.
- Posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded that requires low judgement including accruals and capitalization of assets and prepaid expenses.
- Assisting the finance team with a variety of accounting projects as required
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- College diploma / University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year experience preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Xero a plus.
- Strong MSOffice skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with management and staff and external vendor relations.
- Works well under pressure in a time sensitive environment.

Salary:
$50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
