Schedule:
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Job Summary
The Machinist is responsible to machine parts to specifications working on lathes, milling machines, shapers and grinders.


Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, identify the specifications that a part must meet, setup and maintain equipment, position parts in the appropriate manner, attach materials together and test parts.
• Support CNC operation
• Report issues / NCRs and provide solutions with technical supervisors
• Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
• Measure, examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
• Confer with engineering, supervisor, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information
• Other duties as assigned

Academic/Educational Requirements:

• Completion of High School or Apprenticeship program

Required Skills/Experience:

• 13 years Machining experience
• Excellent communication, problem solving, decision making, team building and people skills
• Hardworking and reliable
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices

Working Conditions:
Dusty and noisy metal shop environment
