Salary Scale:
$32.50 per hour/35 hours per week plus paid vacation, and other benefits

You will be a part of a team who provide gender-responsive community supports for people who have been, or are at risk of being, criminalized, while advocating for broader social change to prevent or provide alternatives to incarceration.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Preparation of annual operational budget, for funding proposals and monthly financial reports presented to the Board of Directors
- Conducts financial and administrative activities within approved budgets
- Preparation and submission of financial reports to funders according to prescribed service agreements
- Provide program statement reviews with management staff, oversight of budget controls
- Process biweekly payroll, administrate employee benefits
- Assist in onboarding new employees, advising on contracts and HR practices, assist with employee scheduling
- Issues Charity Tax receipts/thank you acknowledgements for donations and maintains records of donations
- Process AP in a timely manner, issue AR invoices as required, maintaining document back up, act as a direct contact with agency vendors
- Responsible for all remittances (EHT, WSIB, Source Deductions, HST Rebate), Charity Return, T4s
- Ensuring accounting standards are consistent with legislative and regulatory requirements, implementation of approved finance and administration policies and procedures
- Maintains detailed financial backup documentation, in compliance with CRA retention guidelines
- Schedules annual audit and works collaboratively with Auditor
- Performs clerical and administrative tasks associated, including processing mail, ordering, and managing distribution of supplies
- Reconciles bank statements, providing oversite of banking and investments, administers the petty cash fund
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary education in a Finance, Business and Administration or similar discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in a financial management position within a non profit services sector
- Experience working with multiple sources of funding
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting systems,
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with cash handling principles and procedures
- Knowledge of accounting requirements and practises for non profit and charitable organizations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, solid judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize workload, multitask and meet deadlines
- Provide acceptable criminal record check
