Description

This is a 12-month mandate in one of the Oxfam offices in Africa (to be determined)
The mandate is under the "_Equality in Action_" Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in 14 countries and 3 regions over a seven-year period


The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality.

Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights.

Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.


Here's what your daily life will look like:
In close collaboration with the Communication and Media team members of Oxfam in Africa (OiA), the advisor will:

  • Support the creation of materials for social networks and the OiA website as well as proposing innovative multimedia content
  • Support the development of a digital strategy for OiA and advise on other visibility actions and tools
  • Strengthen the capacity of teams in the countries of the region on the digital component and content creation
  • Help implement a humanitarian digital content plan in times of crisis
  • Monitor social networks

For this mandate you must:


  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent residence in Canada
  • Possess an undergraduate or university degree in cinema, communications, graphic design, journalism, or relevant field
  • Have experience in graphic design and visual creation as well as in managing social networks or as a videographer and/or photographer
  • Have excellent knowledge of video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Avid, etc.) and image editing software (Photoshop)
  • Be fluent in English and French, spoken and written (required)
  • Master the Microsoft Office Suite
