Job Description:

SUMMARY:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in hourly production jobs at Steel Mill location in Hamilton, Ontario.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Implements and coordinates safety objectives.
Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
Directs workers in special projects requested by the customer.
Oversees the operation of equipment such as loaders, cranes, dump trucks, etc.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Ensures all shift records and documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner to facilitate data collection required for payroll, maintenance, etc.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises all activities of hourly Production workers at the Plant.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Six months to one year related work experience and/or additional training.
