We are looking for an energetic self-starter to join our team as
Legal Assistant.

Reporting to our Director of Legal you will help maintain, execute, and organize all legal administrative duties to support and drive our commercial objectives while adhering to global compliance requirements.

You will gain experience on legal matters relating to corporate, commercial, privacy and technology law, and compliance through your work with internal stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Managing, organizing, and collating legal documents and files
  • Word processing and preparing memos/correspondence
  • Creating and maintaining an action items list and keeping track of critical dates
  • Establishing, implementing, and improving existing workflows, administrative procedures and contract review
  • Reviewing and proofreading contracts and other legal documents
  • Reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and legal requirements
  • Conducting basic legal research
  • Maintaining calendars and scheduling meetings
  • Attending and taking notes at meetings
  • Assisting with invoice reviews

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in postsecondary education preferably in a legal assistant program
  • Proficient writer with command of English language and legalese
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal directly with stakeholders and all levels of staff.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail, be organized and proactive, able to multitask and handle changing priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Commercial experience in professional setting
  • Proficiency with MS Teams and SharePoint
  • Experience with CLM software
