    We are seeking a
    Vehicle Inspection Manager* with experience in OPENLANE's vehicle inspection processes to lead a team of skilled Vehicle Inspection Specialists (VIS) at our Vehicle Logistics Centre (VLC).

    The Vehicle Inspection Manager is directly responsible for ensuring highly accurate inspection results, enabling our customers to make educated decisions.

    This role is hands-on, including quality control, process improvement, and performance management.
    Proactive.* You take initiative to enhance the quality and efficiency of the Vehicle Inspection team.
    • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of OPENLANE policies, processes, and procedures and the tools used in the conduct of vehicle inspections.
    • Responsible for developing teams capable of delivering exceptional inspection services, in line with standard processes and performance targets established in consultation with the Sr VLC Operations Manager.
    • Oversee the direct efforts to train, motivate, coach, counsel, and mentor VIS, performing real-time coaching as needed.
    • Leading by example, ensure standard process is consistently followed as VIS inspect vehicles for signs of wear, tear, neglect, damage, previous repair, or structural damage
    • Monitor inspection requests via the portal & established communication channels, ensuring vehicles are sale-ready and that the department is adequately staffed to meet SLAs.
    • Monitor trends, identifying repeat errors & arbitration, develop & implement action plans to reduce claim costs related to inspection errors
    • Keep current on technology updates, new releases, and product development in order to capture data accurately on a mobile device, work comfortably with software and technology.

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business or related discipline required.
    • Must possess aptitude for reporting and analyzing data (inventory, financial and operational in nature) accurately and quickly. 3+ years' experience supervising/managing a team.
    • Must possess strong time management skills, attention to detail, with mastery of setting priorities and executing those priorities, for self and others.
    • Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle, possess a valid driver's license with access to reliable transportation and be able to maintain a good driving record.
    • Prior experience conducting vehicle inspections and working with AMS, VTrace, or other OPENLANE systems is an asset
    • Tech-savvy, familiarity with Google Suite is an asset
    • Ability to drive both standard & automatic transmissions
