    JOB PROFILE:

    This position is responsible to perform Lions Manor and Lions View housekeeping and other related duties to ensure a clean, safe environment for residents, families, and staff members. This position reports directly to the LM/LV Housekeeping Supervisor under the supervision of the Support Services Manager.

    Responsibilities:

    • Function according to housekeeping policies and procedures, and work within established routines in order to meet standards.
    • Function as part of a housekeeping team, assist where help is needed for the purpose of creating a clean and healthy environment.
    • Ensure that all designated areas are cleaned on a daily basis as per housekeeping schedules.
    • Ensure that all floor areas, café, offices, elevators, computer areas, common areas are cleaned as per schedule.
    • Assist with room turnover when a room vacancy arises.
    • Learn the function of all cleaning machines within Lions Housing Centres Inc.
    • Ensure that the cleaning cart is organized, restocked, and replenished as required.
    • Ensure that all garbage and refuse collected daily, thrown away or recycled appropriately.
    • Function in a flexible manner by prioritizing functions and recognizing the individuality of each resident.
    • Follow standards outlined in the Infection Control, Fire and Safety, and WHMIS programs.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Maintains confidentiality in all matters pertaining to residents, staff, and facility operations.
    • Practices in a manner that supports the Respectful Workplace Policy.
    • Participates in mandatory annual education.
    • Work collaboratively with all staff as required.

    Your education and qualifications include:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
    • Minimum 1 year Janitorial or Cleaning experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge of WHMIS applicable to Housekeeping/ Laundry.
    • Knowledge of cleaning products commonly used in commercial cleaning required.
    • Effective problem-solving skills.
    • Good organizational skills, with ability to adapt to changing needs and requirements.
    • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English is required.
    • Able to carry out duties in a professional manner, working under minimum or no supervision.
    • Ability to climb and work from ladders on a frequent basis and lift/ push up to 50lbs.
    • Must maintain a clean, neat appearance, in accordance with Lions Housing Centres Inc. dress code.
