    Job Description Summary

    The Global Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist will liaise with key stakeholders, like ISD-OTR, EHS Programs leader, EHS governance Leader, EHS investigation leader, regional EHS team, GE affiliates, other relevant workstreams/steering committees as defined by the ISD-EHS leader.

    This is a full time hybrid position that is expected to work remotely and report into a GE Steam Power office as required by business demand. The successful candidate must reside within a reasonable commutable distance of a GE Steam Power office.

    • Build and measure Site EHS professional competency and performance.
    • Owner of the Outage level safety plan development and improvements.
    • Data visualization, including coordinate dashboard creations, and dashboard maintenance support.
    • Develop and maintain an outage level risk profiler, leveraging Quality PFMEA & existing workstreams.
    • Coordinate with GE affiliates joint program/project development.
    • Coordinate the creation of critical Task Risk Assessment (TRA) & support ITPL.
    • Project manage new-tools, dashboards, risk reduction projects, and cultural initiatives, in coordination with IT, ISD-OTR teams, GE Vernova, and Affiliates.
    • Partner with the Steam Power Segments and Regions Event Management Organization on implementation strategy of new tools, dashboards.
    • Project manage EHS communications and administer EHS SharePoint or equivalent.
    • Support segment and regional team in recruiting and onboarding of field EHS specialist.
    • Support as author for assigned programs.
    • Part of the assigned auditing team, performing safety audits.
    • Conduct site safety inspections, and validation checks.
    • Part of the assigned investigation team.
    • Support training delivery & initiative deployments.
    • Support Outage readiness reviews, onsite onboarding, and outreach events
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the ISD-EHS Leader

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Environment, Health & Safety, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
    • 10+ years of EHS field experience
    • English proficiency required.
    • Ability to travel within Canada, U.S. and internationally 30% annually, at times on short notice.
    • 2+ years of EHS Auditor experience
    • 2+ years of Taproot or equivalent experience with similar methodology.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Skilled at Change Management processes
    • Green Belt Lean 6-Sigma or higher.
    • Kaizen facilitator
    • ISO 45001 / 14001 auditor
    • Certified trainer
    • Industrial Hygiene, Ergo, and electrical safety proven competency.
    • Ability to form and lead a strong team across the matrix organization (ie. with or without direct reports)
    • Work effectively with people from different culture and background
    • Ability to prepare accurate reports containing findings/recommendations and perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time sensitive deadlines.
    • Industrial equipment and facilities knowledge is desired.
    • Ability to recognize/mitigate organizational systemic risk and train others to recognize/mitigate task and project risk.
    • Strong customer service skills, interpersonal, analytical, organizational and research skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
