Description

The Community Ministry Director leads the Community Ministry team within Inner City Youth Alive (ICYA), a Christian, faith based organization working in Winnipeg's North End.

The Community Ministry program is designed to intentionally reach out to the families in our community by having a community minister(s) available for support and care, to walk alongside our young adults, foster relationships within our community, and encourage partnerships with area churches.

The Community Ministry Director provides direction and guidance to the team, ensuring the program is addressing the needs of the community and individuals served.

This leader would also ensure the Community Ministers are adequately trained and equipped to serve individuals who are experiencing complex issues associated with poverty, including:
homelessness, addictions, mental health and involvement in the justice system.

Community Ministers act in cooperation with the other ICYA ministries and find ways to engage or support the existing programming that is already in place.

This position is best served by someone with a high level of theological or ministry-related education, leadership and/or relevant experience.
