Strategic Planning Forester with strong communication and facilitation skills to support our clients across BC and Western Canada.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Operating within Forsite's Resource Management and Technology business area, the Strategic Planning Forester will work within a team of senior planners and forest analysts to develop and facilitate planning processes in response to a range of forest land management challenges.
This position will require extensive knowledge of forest legislation, policy, and landscape level forest management concepts to provide focused, innovative, and meaningful solutions to our clients.
A background in forest operations/silviculture would be a distinct asset.WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- A safety conscious attitude;
- Postsecondary education with a natural resource management focus;
- Minimum 10 years of related experience in the forest sector, ideally involving landscape scale forest management planning processes;
- Registered or eligible to be registered as an RPF (BC or AB);
- Experience facilitating or leading diverse groups;
- Strong technical writing skills, formal training in technical writing an asset;
- An understanding of forestry GIS datasets and timber supply modeling processes would be an asset;
- Background in operational forest management would be an asset; and
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
