Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation: Utilize architectural and construction knowledge to accurately estimate project costs including materials, labor, and overhead expenses.

Bid Preparation: Assist in preparing bids and proposals for construction projects by gathering relevant data, conducting analysis, and compiling cost estimates.

Quantity Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs from project drawings and specifications to determine the quantities of materials required for each project.

Vendor Relations: Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cost data, bids, and other relevant documentation for future reference and analysis.

Cost Analysis: Analyze project costs to identify areas for cost savings or potential risks, and provide recommendations to senior estimators and project managers.

Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive project estimates.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Architectural Building Technology or related field from an accredited institution, such as the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
- Strong understanding of construction principles, materials, and methods.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members, vendors, and clients.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry standards.
- Previous experience or internships in construction estimating or related roles is a plus but not required.

Pay:
$65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
