SUMMARY OF POSITION


The Medical Receptionist will provide professional and timely support to the interdisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) and the Flexible Assertive Community Treatment Team (FACTT).

These teams are client centered, recovery oriented specialized mental health service delivery models which provide supports to individuals living in the community and who are experiencing serious and persistent mental illness and significant functional impairments.

Medical Receptionist will support the two Psychiatrists for assessment & follow-up appointments, Community Treatment Order processes and Consent and Capacity Board hearings.

This role is active in scheduling appointments and ensuring completeness of client files.

HOURS OF WORK

This position is full-time, working thirty-five (35) hours per week. This position works Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with one (1) hour unpaid lunch each day.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary diploma Medical Administration, Office/Business Administration, or related field; or comparable experience.
  • At least one (1) year experience in an administrative position or a medical office setting.
  • Experience in maintaining electronic files, transcribing clinical notes and meeting minutes, and managing appointments and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with people living with mental health issues is an asset.
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access, Medical Records System, and Client Database) and be able to type a minimum of 45 wpm;
  • Proven skills in your verbal and written communication, high standards of ethics, judgment and confidentiality to handling sensitive, confidential information;
  • Strong selfstarter, able to effectively prioritize key tasks and deliverables with limited daytoday direction, are a solution orientated thinker;
  • Ability to resolve conflicting demands in a timely and productive manner;
  • Flexibility in assisting in all administrative functions of the agency as required and willing to respond to changing demands to address agency needs;
  • Demonstrated ability to work within the organization's mission and values.
