Reporting to the Civil Field Services Manager, the Intermediate Civil Inspector is responsible for assisting and completing the design of projects in their early stages and for inspecting projects during construction through to their final stages.
Working with mínimal direction from senior staff, the role requires thorough design and inspection of multiple complex projects throughout all stages of the project cycle.

- Assist project managers and designers with the design and drafting of various municipal, subdivision and site plan development projects using the AutoCAD Civil3D (latest release)
- Check and verify design drawings for conformance to specifications and design data
- Prepare and distribute daily inspection reports
- Conduct site visits to verify site data, and field review during and post construction
- Provide temporary and resident inspection of various civil engineering construction projects, ensuring contractors construct the projects in accordance with the requirements of the contract
- Liaise with the contractor, owner, residents, utility companies, local municipalities, and other external agencies throughout the construction period
- Contract administration including preparation of progress payments and inspection reports.
- Assist with field survey activities
- University or College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
- Designation as a C.E.T. in Ontario or eligible applicant
- Minimum of 3 years of design and inspection experience in a consulting engineering, municipal environment, or contracting, preferably in Ontario
- Excellent knowledge of OPSS, DGSSMS and other relevant Canadian/Ontario codes and standards
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Time spent in this role will be both on site and in the office, depending on the needs of the project.
Site inspection work offsite will include field review and verifying site data, and hours will vary based on project demands.
Some overtime will be required.In this role you will work within the company safety policies and procedures and adhere to any applicable federal or provincial legislation.
