    Job Description

    We are actively seeking a Director, Solution Architecture to join our team and drive alignment to our digital strategy and roadmaps across application, information, and technology landscapes. Reporting to the Managing Director of Risk & Total Fund Management Technology, you will work closely with technology teams supporting Investment Risk, Total Fund Portfolio Management, Investment Accounting, and Performance Management, as well as with Business Product Owners, Technology Area Leads, and Senior Management.

    Your experience in influencing strategic implementation decisions and your background in delivering technology products, combined with your architecture expertise, will be critical in this role. You will play a pivotal role in connecting the dots to our broader strategy, avoiding siloed thinking, and driving synergies. Your ability to build trust and relationships with peers and leadership across the fund will be key to your success. You will also develop senior management relationships and knowledge to understand and articulate the impact of business and technology direction on the initiatives and solutions delivered by the IT department.     Major Accountabilities:

    Execution Leadership:

  • Drive the creation of digital transformation target state and roadmaps across application, information, business, and technology landscapes.
  • Create and maintain enterprise-level models of the business, information, application, and technology environments, both current and future state.
  • Deliver collaborative architecture decisions for technical infrastructure and application environments; facilitate and contribute to architecture decisions for business and information environments.
  • Ensure development practices adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Research emerging trends and ideas bringing innovative ideas to the discussion. Drive a culture of continuous learning and improvement across the organization.
  • Evolve best practice standards and provide technical guidance and leadership for development teams, in collaboration with peers and Technical Area Leads
  • Ensure architecture/delivery aligns with industry and T&D best practices and standards.
  • Demonstrate thoroughness in recommendations and drive well thought-out solutions.
  • Proactively identify and highlight risks/issues and own accountability to resolve.
  • People Leadership:

  • Foster a culture of transparency and model the behavior of building bridges and trust within the team and organization.
  • Act as a go-to technical advisor
  • Coach and provide regular feedback to team members and across T&D.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop senior management relationships and knowledge to understand and articulate the impact of business and technology direction on initiatives and solutions delivered by the IT department.
  • Effectively communicate with and influence peers and senior stakeholders, ensuring messages/materials are comprehensible to audiences of varying technical acumen.
  • Build a network of relationships with business partners to understand their domain and needs and be valued as a trusted partner.
  • In partnership with Business Product Owners and Technology Area Leads, build and align on strategic roadmaps, priorities, and corresponding quarterly OKRs.
  • Build a network of relationships across T&D to connect the dots to broader strategy, avoid siloed thinking, and drive synergies.
  • Effectively manage multiple stakeholder groups simultaneously.
  • Qualifications

    If you have the following qualifications, we encourage you to apply:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in solution architecture and development, including problem definition, visualization, modeling, analysis, and presentation.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in delivering technology solutions, with a practical understanding of architectural principles.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of modern software development and architecture practices, including experience with AWS or other cloud providers.
  • Proven track record of improving architecture and engineering practices across teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to executive-level audiences.
  • Passion for staying current with technology trends and developments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of successful execution.
  • Ability to act as a change agent, leading organizational change in matters that require a significant shift in thought and behavior.
  • Proven ability to build strategic relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Additional assets include a CFA designation and/or knowledge of investment domains.
