    Your Opportunity:

    Continuing Care provides care in the community through Facility & Supportive Living, Home Living, Transition Services and Specialty Programs. Specialty Programs care for community clients of all ages including newborns, children, teens, adults of all ages and those at end of life through its Children's Home Care, Adult Day Support Programs (ADSP)/Comprehensive Home Option of Integrated Care for the Elderly (CHOICE) Programs, and Palliative & End of Life Care Programs.The ADSP/CHOICE Program is currently recruiting to the position of Clinical Operations Manager.The manager is responsible for the daily operations for and oversight of contracted service providers that operate 14 ADSPs, and 20 CHOICE Treatment Beds. Has direct reporting accountabilities for 60 in-scope employees including healthcare workers and administrative support staff who support 3 ADSPs that AHS operates out of Westview Hospital, Sturgeon Hospital and in Morinville. The position will provide strong leadership in the provision of client centered care in support of clients and caregivers, assessment for and access to programs, management of program capacity, resource allocation, quality care standards and improvement initiatives. The position is responsible for the recruitment, orientation, coaching, development, and mentorship of staff, as well as for team building and the modelling of a collaborative approach to care within the program and with program partners. Strong communication skills are foundational to the promotion and maintenance of relationships of with AHS care teams and contracted providers, and to manage concerns using a creative, compassionate, and fair approach. The manager supports staff and programs at multiple locations in the Edmonton Zone and participates in program area management processes and meetings.

    Description:

    Manages the day-to-day operations of healthcare and administrative support staff at the operations level monitoring the dynamic workload challenges and its effect on budget. Monitors effectiveness of contracted services provided by home support agencies. Ensures services are delivered in accordance with The Continuing Care Act legislation and Alberta Health Services policies and protocols. Collaborates with staff to resolve complex client/family issues and mitigate risks. Makes operational decisions within the assigned area of responsibility based on critical review of clinical information, workload data and fiscal resources. Liaises daily with contracted operators and staff that support the program as well as with referring partners. Promotes collaborative partnerships with zone AHS staff/programs, contracted service provider staff, and provincial partners. Contributes to the development and evaluation of program strategies and operational plans. Fosters an atmosphere conducive to encouraging and meeting staff development needs and ongoing growth, as well as student learning experiences and team building.Participates in the recruitment process, selection, and orientation process.Monitors and documents staff attendance and performance. Provides immediate and constructive feedback while working with the staff to facilitate ongoing quality performance.Responsible for other program initiatives and implementation activities as directed ( Connect Care Launch.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Experience managing interdisciplinary care teams in a healthcare setting. Management experience with HSAA, UNA, AUPE Aux, and AUPE GSS Collective Agreements and a working knowledge of human resource strategies respective to each agreement.Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.Quality improvement and project management experience.Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), ePeople/Recruitment Management System, and Environment for Scheduling Personnel (ESP) is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master's in health-related field preferred. Experience in community care preferred. Knowledge of community resources is an asset.Connect Care knowledge/experience.
