    Job Title: Accounting Manager

    We are seeking an experienced and skilled Accounting Manager to join our team at NWS Canada. The successful candidate will lead a team of accountants and be responsible for financial reporting, cash flow management, and treasury operations.

    About the Opportunity

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, coupled with exceptional leadership and analytical skills. They will also bring a proactive mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the monthly financial close process, including accrual entries, general ledger reviews, intercompany transactions, and variance analysis.
    • Perform daily bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records and resolve variances.
    • Prepare and consolidate financial statements for senior management and external stakeholders in compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
    • Direct the year-end closing process, oversee preparation for external audits, and act as the main liaison for auditors.
    • Assist with the annual budgeting process, collaborate with department heads to assess submissions and ensure accuracy through cost analysis.
    • Conduct weekly cash flow analysis to monitor liquidity, perform variance analysis, and present optimization recommendations.
    • Oversee treasury operations, including intercompany transactions, credit card reconciliations, and shareholder account monitoring.
    • Supervise a finance team of four (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) to ensure timely and accurate deliverables, resolve issues, and mentor team members.
    • Lead the payroll function to ensure accurate, compliant bi-weekly processing via ADP, government remittances, and adherence to internal HR policies.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and a CPA designation (or working toward it).
    • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
    • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly SAP.
