Summary:

Center Managers (CMs) oversee all aspects of the summer camp and are responsible for the center's operations.

Successful CMs collaborate closely with students, ALs, teachers, and Group Leaders to ensure the safety, organization, and enjoyment of all students.


Job Purpose:

The Center Manager is responsible for student discipline, student welfare, center staff, and financial matters. Additionally, the CM ensures the day-to-day operations of the center run smoothly while overseeing the academic and activity programs.

Successful CMs are expected to demonstrate effective communication, administrative skills, leadership potential, flexibility, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to be sensitive to the needs of international students.


Work Schedule:

A flexible approach to the position is required, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the delivery of customer satisfaction by providing highquality academic and activities programs.
  • Oversee the daytoday operation of the Center, including the academic and activity programs, airport transfers, and all aspects of student welfare and discipline.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the Center, including overseeing a budget, petty cash accounts, cash requests, and filing weekly reports.
  • Be responsible for the weekly submission of Occupancy Reports and Meal Provision forms.
  • Lead and participate in regular meetings with Group Leaders.
  • Manage all aspects of student accommodation, including room allocations where applicable.
  • Ensure high levels of student safety, discipline, and welfare, and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Develop a positive working relationship with the university/school and stay up to date with campus information, ensuring their rules are adhered to.
  • Ensure all staff receive adequate and proper orientation and training.
  • Review and approve all activity leader and teacher timesheets.
  • Ensure residential supervision duties, including meal and bedtime supervision and guardian duties, are undertaken by activity leaders who have onsite residential responsibilities.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings.
  • Liaise regularly with the Program Manager.
  • Participate in a 24hour emergency oncall rotation schedule along with the Activity Manager and Center Academic Manager.
  • Address various problems and complaints, providing appropriate and professional responses and solutions.
  • Ensure that all center signage and branding are clearly marked and up to date.

Qualifications & Training:


  • Experience in successfully managing a summer school with a track record of excellent customer service and operations management.
  • Experience working with and leading a group of teenagers, for example, in a camp environment.
  • Previous experience managing a residential facility.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and supervisory abilities.
  • Ability to effectively manage, lead, and inspire a team of staff to work together cohesively in a dynamic team in a varied and fastpaced role.
  • Experience and familiarity with rolling admissions and weekly intakes.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and Word and Excel programs.
  • Experience in managing and working with budgets.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Valid First Aid and/or CPR Certificate (Desirable).
  • Lifeguard and/or other coaching qualifications (Desirable).
