You've mastered the art of reformulation

Do you have great interpersonal skills and great curiosity, and would you like to be responsible for implementing innovative sales strategies and thus contribute to achieving the financial objectives of a growing company? We are looking for a dynamic and responsive Business Development Delegate who will play an important role with our commercial customers and groups, ensuring that they have positive experiences that make them want to renew again and again.

He/she keeps abreast of market developments and ensures regular follow-up with customers; responding promptly to requests for information, creating quotations and contracts, sending out sales literature, etc.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Negotiate skillfully to develop contracts with potential customers; propose and debate prices within established parameters.
Take a proactive approach to business development: manage accounts, prospect in targeted market segments and make recommendations.
Study the competition in order to implement innovative tactics to maximize occupancy and identify potential business opportunities to capture new market share.
Carry out personalized followup and maintain regular communication with "major customer accounts" (group or corporate) by making regular calls to seek their feedback.
Conduct site inspections, customer visits, familiarization trips, trade shows in addition to joining associations with the aim of representing the company so as to enhance its image and reputation.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

University degree in a relevant field
3 to 5 years' experience as a sales manager
Knowledge of the Office suite and hotel management software (e.g. OPERA)
High availability; occasional travel outside Ottawa
Active listening and communication skills, both oral and written
Positive, organized and proactive attitude
