Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide leadership, training and coaching to all staff in the On Demand department.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient production system, SOP's, and Control Plans to ensure our products always meet customer requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure process and quality procedures for the department are followed and understood by department personnel.
  • Liaise with customers, sales, planning and project manager and production management for all projects in progress.
  • Ensure that key production metrics are met monthly by managing the schedule with the lead hands, reviewing jobs and reporting to the Production Manger daily.
  • In collaboration with the production team, provide solutions and recommendations to improve efficiencies, reduce cost, and improve quality.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical documents including the schematics and prints.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve a variety of technical issues to improve Ampco production layout and processes.
  • Responsible for managing the large format printing & graphic production being driven through our On Demand department. This will include working with our project manager or coordinating with local and remote installations staff and outside suppliers to complete the project within the timeline that is required.

What you bring to Ampco:


  • 5+ years' experience in a supervisory position within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with wide format printing & installation is preferred.
  • Ability to handle highpressure situations in a fast paced, highly demanding industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Wellversed in relevant software (e.g. MS Office and Adobe Suite).
  • Able to manage several projects going thru production at once and prioritize one's workload.
  • Must possess enough strength to safely maneuver around archived materials up to 25lbs without injury to themselves or others.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and a good working understanding of the impact of quality in the production process would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of, Theory of Constraint DFM, PFMEA, Lean/ Six Sigma Fundamentals would be considered an asset.
