    About the opportunity

    As a Senior Manager in the tax group, you will be part of the creation, development, delivery and ongoing refinement of tax education programs offered by CPA Canada such as the In-Depth Tax Program. You will also participate in various tax committees to assist in addressing current tax issues and build relationships with tax professionals and government officials. The individual will utilize their tax skills and experience to provide benefits to CPA Canada members, such as tools and resources and disseminating timely tax information.

    The targeted base salary range for this position is $125k to $140k and is commensurate with experience. This hybrid role can be based in Toronto, Ottawa, or Burnaby and may involve some domestic travel; however, a remote work scenario in Canada will also be considered.

    What you'll do

    In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Tax Education, other CPA Canada departments, and external experts to design, create and update learning materials related to the effective delivery of tax education programs such as the In-Depth Tax Program
  • Participate in strategic conversations and decisions regarding the direction of tax education programs offered by CPA Canada
  • Work closely with the Learning Solution Services team to develop and deliver appropriate and effective faculty training.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with existing and potential course faculty and external stakeholders
  • Work with external stakeholders to consolidate feedback on learning needs and course improvement
  • Work closely with tax professionals to identify and address current tax issues and assist with the development of feedback for Canada Revenue Agency and Department of Finance
  • Develop tools and resources to provide tax updates to CPA Canada members
  • What we're looking for

    The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • CPA required
  • Completion of CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Program or MTax program
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience practicing tax or in tax education, including experience in tax-writing and/or editing
  • Broad exposure to income taxation with research and professional writing skills
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly proactive and innovative
  • Team player with the ability to work with multiple internal groups and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple large projects
