    About the Project

    The Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) project is one of many contracts to deliver the Ontario Line, a 15.6-kilometre stand-alone rapid transit line that will connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition/Ontario Place.

    The Role

    The Design Coordinator / Engineers will support the CJV design leads in managing and delivering multidisciplinary design Scope of Works (SoW) for the Ontario Line (OL) project, as per Connect 6ix design and design quality management plans.

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with the Design Manager, interface, Project Controls, RAMS & Safety, Designers and Contracting Authority teams to develop and deliver the OMSF CJV design, supporting the implementation of the Connect 6ix's design assurance processes, work plans, and reporting for the overall OMSF CJV's design.
    • Support the design Lead on the review of design deliverables submitted to Connect 6ix by all the different designers involved in the project, participating in the values engineering and optimization of the CJV design in alignment with the Connect 6ix delivery strategy, obligations, and internal management plans.
    • Support the designer's schedule monitoring, design changes, and design development records during the different stages of the design development process; coordinating and supporting the completion of the CJV Connect 6ix Monthly Progress Reports.
    • Support the Design Lead to coordinate the different CJV design registers, by regular updates of related logs to track all documents and keep the right record of design progress as per Connect 6ix design assurance processes.
    • Support the Design Lead with the program and project document management system and retrieve project documentation communicated between the different CJV Connect 6ix teams.
    • Coordinate, schedule and participate in meetings with the CJV designers, Contracting Authority, external stakeholders and project team; prepare and distribute meeting materials and minutes; track and follow up on meeting action items as required to ensure actions are undertaken.
    • Ensure all design deliverables and documentation are fully compliant with the CJV Connect 6ix technical requirements, safety requirements, applicable standards, and follow CJV Connect 6ix quality standards.
    • Support the preparation of internal/external audits required (PR, Third parties, Partners).

    Qualifications

    • Over 3 years of experience in the design delivery for civil/railway works within multidisciplinary teams and major projects.
    • Preference for transit project experience (i.e. depots, stations, civil works, or rail systems).
    • Good understanding of design and delivery assurance processes.
    • Ability to write accurate and detailed reports.
    • A good communicator and able to build positive working relationships, internally and with the supply chain.
    • Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
