Residential Supervisor (Developmental Services Worker/Mental Health Worker)

Orleans location (located close to the highway)

Full Time 40 hours/week:
Tuesdays to Saturdays 2pm-10pm with some flexibility to shift

Supporting young adults with a variety of behavioural, developmental and physical disabilities in a home setting.

You will be integral in the day to day lives of our clients and developing their life skills while providing quality care.

Help foster lifelong friendships and community connections.

As an experienced supervisor, you will be working on the floor with clients and staff as well as helping run the program alongside the manager.


Job Duties & Responsibilities
This is a supervisory role which involves leading a staff team, budget management, scheduling and activity planning.

You will also be responsible for managing the day to day workings of a supported living program, ensuring clients' needs are being met and being a part of the Leadership Team.


  • Skills with managing clients needs (Seizures, Autism, Dual Diagnosis, FASD, Mental Health)
  • Supporting clients with behaviours and mental health concerns with developmental delays
- providing personal care (toileting, showering, brief changes etc.)
- managing challenging behaviours & behaviour tracking
- creativity for developing and implementing protocols, activities, events with clients and staff team
- completing housekeeping/chores, meal preparation, medication administration and working collaboratively with the team.


Requirements:


  • Standard First aid & CPR level C
  • Experience with Disabilities, Mental Health, Autism
  • Experience supporting individuals with Dual Diagnosis
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • NVCPI Training
  • Access to a reliable vehicle, clean driver's abstract and valid G License required
  • Previous Supervisory Experience

Salary information

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience
  • Shift premiums for overnight awake shifts, signing bonus and $3/hour Government Wage Enhancement available on top of base rate
Previous experience is required


transferable skills such as

  • Mental Health Worker, social work, community support worker, developmental service worker, child and youth worker, residential support worker, DSW, supervisor experience, group home experience

Education:


  • DCS / DEC (preferred)

Experience:

- autism: 1 year (preferred)


  • Supervising: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) (preferred)
  • Standard First Aid (preferred)
  • G Driver's License (preferred)
