    Aviva Canada is looking for a passionate individual who are interested in joining the Reserving team as Actuarial Manager. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for leading the quarterly reserve review, communicating the financial insights to key stakeholders, as well as exciting projects around the design and implementation of more efficient reserving processes and reporting tools.

    What you'll do:
    • Accountable for the production and reporting of SII Technical Provisions. Manage the communication of results and insights to key stakeholders in Finance and Economic Capital.
    • Accountable for the claim reserve levels of Specialty Commercial Risks - including Surety, Warranty, Professional Liability, and Latent claims. Connect with Claims and the CI business to gain expertise on these portfolios, and manage the stakeholder communications.
    • Support the Reserving team's quarterly analysis, including preparation and presentation to the Reserving Committee
    • Support the Reserving team's regulatory reporting, including IFRS17 reporting and the annual Appointed Actuary's report
    • Develop a close working relationship with our partners in the CI Business, Pricing, Claims, Finance, and Economic Capital
    • Develops improvements in current processes to improve efficiency and deliver better business insights
    What you'll bring:
    • FCAS/FCIA and 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience or 10+ years of experience and expertise equivalent to an FCAS.
    • Reserving experience is an asset.
    • Degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong team player who is also able to work independently.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - ability to establish and maintain good working collaborations with various departments.
    • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through the technical implementation details while appreciating the big picture.
    • Strong technical knowledge with MS Excel and VBA.
    • Experience with SAS, SQL and Python is an asset
