CAREER COACH
FACULTY OF ACADEMIC STRATEGY & INTEGRATION
Career Coaches move the WILCEC vision of maximizing student empowerment through experience and education forward by working with industry to develop partnerships for Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and supporting students before and during their WIL experiences.
- Early Learning and Childcare
- To engage with daycares, day homes, and other early learning childcare agencies to support students entering the field.
- Social Work
- To support Social Work students in gaining work experience in social work settings.
- Child and Youth Care
- To support students and child and youth care organizations throughout the Work-Integrated Learning placement experience.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Support students in their WIL journey through career coaching on resume writing, interview preparation, goal setting, and job searching.
- Develop relationships with external industry partners to create opportunities for students to connect their academic experience to the real world through Work-Integrated Learning experiences.
- Engage all stakeholders including students, faculty, and employerpartners to develop mutually beneficial learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with WILCEC Leadership to start small and think big to find ways forward.
- Develop students' workforce relevance through presentations, workshops, and more.
WHAT YOU BRING
- A diploma or degree in education, human resources, management, or a relevant field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in postsecondary environment, hiring and recruiting environment, or nonprofit with knowledge of employability skills and career development techniques and strategies.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
- A willingness to support your team, employerpartners, and other stakeholder.

- Recognition that "WE are greater than THEY" and that all initiatives support the Centre and college.
- Bold curiosity and a willingness to learn new technology with previous experience with ESAT, Moodle, Articulate 360, Orbis, and Peoplesoft.
- Previous experience working with immigrants, newcomers, and language learners an asset.
- Willingness and ability to travel to employerpartner sites around Edmonton.
- Previous experience in early learning and childcare, child and youth care, nonprofits, or social work.
SALARY:
$2,047-$2,660 biweekly ($53,230-$69,156) reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. We are looking for 6 term positions until June 30, 2024 with immediate access to our great benefit program.
