    The City of Abbotsford is pleased to share that it has a unique opportunity for an experienced drainage and waste water Engineer to join its team as the Senior Drainage and Wastewater Engineer.

    Reporting to the Director of Utilities Infrastructure, the Engineer will oversee long-term capital plans for diking, drainage and irrigation related projects, the JAMES Wastewater Treatment Plant and the City sewer collection system.

    Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that infrastructure capacity aligns with projected growth and developing the Development Cost Charge Program.

    As the Senior Engineer to a group of engineering professionals, you will lead, coach and support, while managing capital planning of drainage, diking and irrigation, Regional wastewater treatment, and City sewer collection programs, including budgets and engineering projects.

    You will be responsible for long range master planning, concept plans, servicing comments for development applications, implementing City and Regional master plans, and applying, developing and updating policies and bylaw, on both the City and Regional Systems.

    As the City's technical expert, you will work closely with external consultants, as well as respond to enquiries from the public and outside agencies.

    Your strong communication and interpersonal skills allow you to provide key support to the operations and engineering team.
    Experience in capital planning and budgeting
    ~ Proven ability to develop Request for Proposals and execute processes to determine project award
    ~ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or other related discipline. Experience in wastewater treatment is an asset.
