    Continuing Full-Time Position :

    The minimum educational qualification for this position is a Inter Provincial Journeyperson HVAC, Electrical Instrumentation Mechanics, Plumbing or recognized equivalency such as BES Level 2 or Power Engineering.

    BOMA Energy Training for Building Operations Certification would be considered an asset.

    You have a minimum of 4 years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in HVAC control, life safety, or related computer, security, mechanical, or electrical systems.

    Lift Operator Certification would be considered an asset.

    You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, E-mail, Megamation, and BAS.

    You have demonstrated experience providing maintenance duties.
    Certification in specific building control systems (i.e. Energy Building Integration (EBI) would be considered an asset.
    Warehousing fundamentals would be considered an asset.
    You have demonstrated experience in computerized energy management systems and the ability to use test instruments.
    You demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion

    Demonstrate leadership through effective interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to take immediate action through mentoring and coaching.

    You are known for your superior customer service skills and are able to create a relationship of trust beyond the immediate interaction.

    You have specific technical occupational knowledge and skill in building and equipment maintenance and operation (e.g. operating boilers, HVAC equipment, inventory control, performing audits, etc.)
    You are familiar working within and committed to complying with OHS policies and procedures

    You possess a trade or you possess experience providing assistance to a trade such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing & Heating.

    You are able to perform all physical duties of the job as required for the operation and maintenance of the facilities and operation of small hand tools and shop equipment
    You possess a valid NS Driver's License.

    Perform scheduled, preventive maintenance on any equipment/system not under contract agreement, by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating systems and ensuring equipment is in satisfactory working order.

    Respond to emergency service calls as directed to keep system downtime to a minimum. Perform detailed operational and safety tests with standard, predictive, and high technology test equipment.
    Perform and/or direct the start-up and check-out of new remotes, I/O equipment, CPU's, and software installation
    system surveys as assigned.
    Instruct and/or train staff on systems maintenance and operating procedures for Building Automation Systems.
    Able to work on systems remotely.
    Assign Work Orders when required, supervisory duties, fill in for Facilities Manager on occasion.
    Provide safety related electrical training for facilities staff (i.e. Operate building systems including energy management.
    Uses/reports current material/inventory in a responsible manner and recommends inventory requirements.
    Assist and direct contractors and other trades as required.
    Requires periodic substitution for the Facilities Manager.
    Operate snow removal and grounds keeping tools as required
    The successful candidate will be expected to provide official transcripts to show proof of academic achievements.
