    We are looking for Heavy Duty Mechanic – Apprentices at our Walker – Aggregates and Construction Division – Grey-Bruce location.

    Heavy Duty Mechanic - Apprentice

    We are looking for Heavy Duty Mechanic -Apprentice that are looking to learn and grow within our organization.

    This position would be working full time out of our Grey Bruce Office in Kemble, Ontario. Walker offers a competitive wage, full group benefits, a pension plan, and many other industry-leading Walker perks. There is potential for growth within the company.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Servicing heavy equipment on regular intervals, including preventative maintenance
    • Can perform major mechanical repairs to the equipment
    • Responsible for maintaining the company's preventative maintenance program and work order system in a timely manner
    • Additional training will be provided if necessary

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience as a heavy-duty or truck and coach mechanic an asset
    • Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere equipment are assets
    • Enrolled in an Apprenticeship program
    • Common core training is an asset but not required
    • Experience working in a quarry or construction environment is an asset
