We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join our Plant 3 Manufacturing team on the evening shift.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for primarily responsible for the business function of production in a lean manufacturing environment.

The implementation of the principles and techniques of Lean Manufacturing are directed by the Production Supervisor on the shop floor.

The overall goal of the Production Supervisor is to accomplish safe, high quality, cost effective achievement of the production schedule so that commitments to customers, employees, and suppliers are fulfilled

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a safe & secure work environment for all employees and fostering compliance with all OH&S regulations
  • Supervise, coach and mentor anywhere from 1020 employees to perform work correctly to meet safety, quality, production, and cost requirements
  • Effectively holds employees accountable for their performance; ensuring targets are met by identifying and implementing corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Maintain quality standards through observation of employee work practices
  • Meet company policy standards with regard to environmental impact, waste recycling, etc.
  • Participating in production decision making with other supervisors: contributing to the effectiveness of meetings through good preparation and participation
  • Develop a positive workplace environment and culture that is characterized by good teamwork, open candid and constructive communication, collaborative working relationships amongst workers and between workers and the leadership team
  • Control operating expenses as assigned within budget. Provide explanation of variances in a timely way.
  • Ensuring that all production reporting and data collection is completed accurately and on time.
  • May work on production lines when there are not enough production workers to meet production demands, when the plant is over capacity, or to learn a new line.

Qualifications include:

  • 35 years as a Team Leader or other supervisory experience in a large scale, fast pace manufacturing/production environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Lean manufacturing concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization in a multicultural production facility
  • Demonstrated leadership skills that provide motivation for employees to increase morale, efficiency and production
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team
  • Technical Diploma in relevant field would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated leadership, decision making, team work and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must have demonstrated decisionmaking skills, the ability to easily interact with others.
  • Flexibility and availability for shift work & OT is required
This is a night shift position that runs from 3:00 pm-11:30 pm Monday-Friday. There would be a night shift premium for this role.


For the first three (3) weeks of employment there will be training on the day shift before moving over into the evening shift.
