Overall Accountability

The Education Assistant works in person, and online supporting students with diverse learning needs.

This includes those who have academic, social, emotional and communication needs (mild - severe) and/or reflect an Educational Support I (ES-I) learning profile.

Summer school course operates from Tuesday, July - Monday, July 29, 2024.

The hours of class instruction are:

Hours of work will be either 8:00 am to 1:00 pm or 11:00am - 4:00 pm:

This role will mainly be supporting the students online

Specific Accountabilities

Assists students individually and in small groups, in person and online to achieve curriculum programming
Experience as a scribe and reader for student assessments
Assists with assessment and data tracking
Photocopying, typing, computer data entry, phoning, bulletin boards, preparing charts, and teaching materials
Contributes to class planning activities, behaviour and progress reviews
Assists with the implementation of Learner Support and other response plans
Effectively use digital platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom to conduct Diverse Learning communications and support student needs.
Proficiency with various assistive technologies
