Job Description

• Responsible for quantity take-off, pricing of work and material, closing of tenders, and preparing quotes
• Review specifications and drawings of open tenders
• Communicate effectively with third-party vendors and project team members to get the information required to complete accurate cost estimates
• Review designs and specification for cost-effectiveness; provide recommendations for alternatives where applicable
• Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with team members to confirm complete scope
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Requirements

• A valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• Available to work Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday
• Minimum of 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Attentive to detail, organized, and able to meet deadlines under pressure
• Proficient in both verbal and written English communication
• Able to work in a team environment and independently
• Excellent problem solving-skills and ability to think outside the box
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
• Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta

Assets

• Previous experience as an estimator or similar position
• Familiar with construction terms and processes
• An understanding of precast concrete
• Basic knowledge of Autodesk software (Revit, AutoCAD)
• Graduate from a recognized construction program or equivalent
