    As a Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Analyst you will is responsible for developing the Fixed Equipment and Piping scope of work for the RBI Execution Lead and providing minimum Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) intervals for the Area Inspection Leads. Your goal will be maintaining consistent and accurate inputs in the RBI database and supporting the execution teams with inspection plans. Your success will be tied to understanding RBI work processes and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Having a thorough understanding of the software, algorithms, logic and sensitivities of the models, and the RBI work process.
    • Interpret and apply refining process and operating inputs from various sources into a computer model (RBI Plant Manager)
    • Interpret and apply information from engineering studies into RBI Plant Manager
    • Have a strong overall understanding of fixed equipment and piping programs, inspection, corrosion and materials, inspection codes, inspection practices (damage mechanisms), grading inspection effectiveness practices, and fitness for service.
    • Support RBI project manager work such as; supplying management with metrics, track and report success, findings and risks, review failures and develop recommendations, identify weak areas in the program, management of software testing.
    • Designated Irving Oil contact to liaise with contracted third-party engineering firms on matters pertaining to RBI.
    • Assure that RBI studies (both external and internal) are conducted per applicable codes and standards.
    • Provide the RBI Specialists with their RBI inspection scopes for the year. Also, assist in developing inspection plans.
    • Provide Area Inspection Leads with their PSV plans for turnaround worklist generation
    • Being a resource to the RBI Team, Area Teams, Turnaround Teams; conduct cost/benefit analyses and other types of benefit analyses as necessary
    • Inputting/transferring data into and exporting from RBI.
    • Perform periodic auditing of evergreening activities, which includes reviewing and documenting inspection and maintenance histories into the API RBI database.

    Your Experience:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering would be an asset. Must have a solid knowledge of common engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • 3-5 years of experience in an engineering role, knowledgeable about engineering concepts. Experience within the organization or in a heavy industrial environment is preferred.
