Job Summary


Arc The Hotel requires a motivated and energetic new Valet/Bellman responsible for providing our guests with a positive first and last impression, providing consistently excellent customer service.

Responsibilities will include handling guest requirements, giving accurate directions and necessary information to guests, assisting with guest luggage, providing assistance loading and unloading luggage from vehicles, escorting guests to their room, valet parking guest vehicles, delivering messages, parcels and guest amenities.

The Bellman/Valet will explain the services available in the hotel and guide guests to the check-in area or direct them to their destination.

As a Valet/Bellman, his/her role will exemplify our brand image as an ambassador, and will provide positive brand experiences to all customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Valet park guest vehicles
  • Full local knowledge of city attractions
  • Provide guests with directions or any other information if required
  • Every door has to be open by the Valet
  • Assist with guest luggage
  • Snow removal during Winter Season as needed
  • Provide consistently excellent customer service for all hotel guests
  • Develop a good understanding of hotel layout and be able to give directions to all units and services
  • Interact effectively with hotel guests and coworkers to create a positive environment
  • Assist guests with special needs
  • Attend to group arrivals and departures
  • Daily check to ensure keys, units are ready for check in
  • Maintain and update master keys
  • Unit, key, locker, telephone checks when requested
  • Assist guests with general questions and enquiries
  • Assist Front Desk during periods
  • Maintain clean and tidy appearance
  • Maintain clean and tidy work area
  • Any other reasonable requests as made by the Regional General Manager, Duty Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • Must have a valid Canadian driver's license
  • Must be able to work predominantly evening shifts
  • Bilingualism, English & French preferred
  • A working knowledge of computers is required
  • Must be able to lift/push/carry up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to work variable shifts and would include working holidays and weekends
  • Must submit a drivers abstract upon hiring
  • Initiative and team work
  • Hotel experience preferred

Physical Effort

  • Standing for long periods of time.

Working Conditions

  • Governed by concurrent and dynamic deadlines, despite conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions.
  • Frequent handling of queries and calls from guests, potential guests, and other departments.

Type of Supervision Required
Reports to the Front Office Supervisor and General Manager. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
