    The IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) division of SNS has a vast array of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

    • Leading SNS's business planning cycle;
    • Providing consultations, training, and support for leaders and employees across SNS on a variety of topics related to diversity, inclusion, equity, and accessibility.
    • Developing Training on Topics related to IDEA.
    • Providing the infrastructure, tools, and technology to support SNS staff to work safely and effectively.
    • Supporting the engagement and development of staff that leads to organizational success for SNS.
    What You Will Do

    As the Junior IDEA coordinator with the Corporate team you will:

    • Undertake cross-jurisdictional research and analysis to identify best practices and trends on issues related to IDEA.
    • Assist with performance measurement approaches and outcome-based evaluation activities to ensure proper and accurate reporting of accomplishments across divisions;
    • Provide support on key initiatives to ensure the IDEA Advisor achieves their divisional business planning objectives.
    • Engage in supporting program areas and subject matter experts across Corporate Services.
    • Assist in the preparation of corporate reports, presentations, and project reports.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    Qualifications and Experience

    To be considered for this summer student opportunity, you are currently a full-time University student entering or returning to study in the fall or next applicable semester. Service industry experience is required.

    As the ideal candidate, you are well-organized with high energy and effective communication and problem-solving skills. Digital literacy skills are also required.

    You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are highly professional. You can manage multiple priorities and demonstrate high initiative and resourcefulness with a strong attention to detail. You value the concepts of IDEA in your workplace, and this allows you to foster positive relationships. You are a team player with a desire to consistently create a positive work environment. Although not required, previous experience working in a public administration environment would be considered an asset.

    We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

    Working Conditions
    • Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day,
    • Typically located in a comfortable office environment.
    • Much of the time is spent in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.
    • Regularly reads and interprets multiple sources of information, regular requirement to type, read and work on a computer.
    • May experience pressure with deadlines and need for accuracy.
