Job Summary:
The sandblaster is responsible for sandblasting parts to prepare for paint in addition to ensuring that all parts are sprayed to a consistently high quality in a manufacturing atmosphere.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Remove dirt/paint/grease from other build up from parts
- Set up and operate blast booth
- Select an appropriate paint or mix paints according to a predetermined formula
- Operate handheld spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items
- Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air and personal protective equipment
- Clean and perform preparation of work site
- Operate, read and maintain air monitoring devices when working in confined spaces and/or hazardous environments
- Meet and maintain company quality standards
- Actively participates in the implementation and daily routines of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System
- Actively participates and cooperates with internal/external ISO Audits
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and the tools required in various assembly processes
- High school or equivalent
- Previous sandblasting experience
