Small fast growing Silicon Valley "startup" company seeking an experienced HR Lead. A high degree of reliability is necessary, along with excellent operational skills establishing and managing processes. Looking for someone who generally works US business hours. Approx 20-40 hours/weekly.While we don't currently use AI-driven HR tools, we are looking to explore and integrate technology to enhance efficiency in recruitment, onboarding, and staff member management.
We need someone with a strong HR background who is open to learning about AI solutions and helping implement them over time.
Must be comfortable communicating in English both written and verbal.We are looking for an HR professional with strong multi-tasking skills who is able to both manage as well as execute on tasks as needed.
This position will report directly to the CEO.Responsibilities Include:
Full-cycle recruitment: Create job descriptions, global talent sourcing, oversee candidate sourcing and screening, and drive improvements in recruitment strategies and employer branding
Proactively advising management on HR best practices, offering strategic HR insights and solutions to enhance team performance and engagement
Tracking candidates throughout the hiring process, analyzing data to identify bottlenecks, and implementing improvements in the recruiting pipeline to ensure efficiency.
Managing seamless onboarding and offboarding processes, with a focus on staff member experience, retention, and engagementDeveloping and maintaining HR policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
Handling staff member relations and conflict resolution, acting as a point of contact for staff member
Overseeing staff member records management and ensuring data accuracy
Assessing and implementing AI-driven HR tools and other HR technologies for recruitment, staff member engagement, performance management
Conducting performance management support – assisting with staff member evaluations and feedback
Ensuring compliance with labor laws and HR best practices for global remote teams
Skills:
Proven experience leading HR in a global fast-growing startup, particularly in the B2B SaaS sector, with the ability to scale HR functions to support rapid growth.
Experience negotiating compensation.
Strong decision making skills, able to resolve issues, provide HR guidance, and foster collaboration and conflict resolution in cross-functional teams.
Experience reporting HR KPIs and providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.Strong emotional intelligence, able to understand and navigate the and needs of individuals across all levels of the organization.
Proactive and independent, taking ownership of HR processes while collaborating closely with management to drive improvements and align HR strategies with business objectives.
Works primarily within North American business hours, with flexibility to adjust for team needs across time zones.Experience managing, growing, and developing global HR teams, and overseeing recruiting as the company scales (preferably hi-tech).
Comfortable balancing strategic HR initiatives with multiple operational HR functions simultaneously.
Strong process management skills – enjoys creating efficient systems and workflows.
AI experience is a plus, with enthusiasm for learning and implementing AI-driven HR solutions.
Excellent communication skills in English – both written and verbal, with a diplomatic approach.
Highly adaptable – comfortable working in a fast-growing company where priorities evolve quickly.
Resourceful problem solver – able to work independently and find solutions without waiting for direction.
General understanding of HR compliance and employment laws (global experience is a plus).
Able to work with ambiguity and adapt to changing HR needs.
Quick to learn and implement new HR software and tools, particularly AI-driven solutions that enhance HR processes.
Strong interpersonal skills – able to build relationships with employees at all levels.
High level of integrity and confidentiality – handling sensitive employee information with care.

Our hiring process includes a period of time (1-3months) where we pay candidates during a trial period of working together.
During this time, we can hone in on your special skills and determine which responsibilities are suitable for you, along with number of hours per week.
The job description will be ambiguous during this time, and we will define it at the end of the trial period.
Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.Mandatory skills:
