- Drives end to end development of platform hardware and translates platform level requirements to circuit and component level specifications.
- Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts, components, PCB, or integrated circuitry for hardware platforms, electrical engineering applications, and equipment.
- Conducts logical design of printed circuit boards through component definition and schematic capture, defines component placement and circuit trace routing rules, and oversees board layout from feasibility studies to board tapeout while meeting multidisciplinary platform level requirements.
- Considers BOM cost and availability data versus design tradeoffs at the board and system levels.
- Applies design expertise to define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility.
- Incorporates feedback from other functions (including verification, validation, manufacturing, and customer) to improve development methods.
- Collaborates with architects, other platform hardware design engineers, hardware verification engineers, technical project managers, and technicians to plan and lead platform hardware power on and debug activities.

- 5+ years of combined experience with:
- H ardware design, debugging, bring-up and testing.
- I mplementing a board design from requirements documentation and block diagrams.
- E nd-to-end hardware flow - product requirements, logical design, physical design, manufacturing, platform bring-up and testing.
- Interacting with cross-functional teams (Signal/Power Integrity, Thermal/Mechanical, PCB Layout, Manufacturing, Package, Validation, Software, Silicon).
- 3+ Experience with Cadence Concept.
- Familiarity with Cadence System Capture and Allegro.
- Understanding of the PCB layout process and basic layout-affecting principles such as board stackup, manufacturability, SI, PI, EMI, EMC, ESD.
- Basic understanding of software programming language and scripts (Python, etc.).

Job Description
This position is part of Intel's Network and Edge Group (NEX), working in the Platform Hardware Engineering (PHE) team. PHE is the central engineering pillar for NEX, enabling HW and Package solutions across Xeon, Core, Entry, AI, and Graphics.
Platform Hardware Design Engineers are part of a team responsible for developing platforms utilizing Intel architecture. Platforms include validation vehicles used to enable verification of NEX products, reference designs used to enable customers, and proof of concepts of new technologies. Responsibilities include working with Platform Architects to define platform requirements and board strategies, circuit definition and design, platform bring-up and testing in addition to interfacing with cross-functional teams to oversee all aspects of the hardware design.
