Description

Reporting to the VP/GM, Maintenance Support the Supply Chain Manager directs and oversees the procurement function for the Company and is responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services, in-bound logistics, materials/equipment storage and preservation, managing vendors, forming contracts, and ensuring compliance with contractual responsibilities.

The Supply Chain Manager leads a small team through a center of excellence model responsible for the timely and efficient procurement of equipment, materials, supplies and services.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the KMC safety culture, adhering to all provincial and federal laws, KMC policy, internal controls and practices, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and upholding the vision, values and mission of the Company.
  • Coach and mentor team members;
  • Develop and improve team performance across the functions of market and supplier analysis, the bid/proposal process; vendor evaluation criteria, negotiations, contracting, vendor performance management crossfunctional teaming to ensure optimal vendor performance at lowest total cost of ownership;
  • Maintains a positive working relationship across all areas of the business;
  • Responsible for managing the tender process of RFQs and RFPs according to established Company policies and procedures to ensure optimal results;
  • Administer contracts, required addendums, and amendments for contractual agreements according to organizational needs, changing markets, legislative codes and standards;
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships vendors;
  • Keep track of performance issues, negotiated discounts, and annual performance assessments to ensure compliance;
  • Conduct vendor and product/service research according to business objectives and standards to ensure valueadd for the Company;
  • Perform cost analysis to identify areas of opportunity to reduce cost and maximize revenues;
  • Generate comprehensive reports that provide savings results and status on various KPI's and assigned projects;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills, Competencies, & Qualifications

  • Five or more years of proven experience in a similar role;
  • Excellent leadership skills, and integrity;
  • Takes a collaborative approach;
  • Results driven;
  • Continuous improvement and change champion;
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics;
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office 365;
  • Tenacity and grit with the ability to have uncomfortable and hard conversations when needed;
  • Supply Chain Management Diploma, or similar education preferred;
  • Experience in mining or heavy construction an asset.
